About Maximilien Charlier
Born in Belgium in 1986, Maximilien has an academic background in Journalism with a Master Degree he obtained in 2009 from IHECS journalism school in Brussels. For his graduation work, he co-authored the documentary "Auroville, l'Esquisse d'un Monde". This expericence encouraged him to outline the borders of a production company, Dancing Dog Productions. He then first started working as a travel writer and photographer for Sanoma Magazines and for Thomas Cook and Jetair (now TUI) inflight magazines. He then specialized in movie production at IAD (Institut des arts de diffusion) in 2011, where he learned to manage a film from a producer point of view.
He’s now the producer and manager of Dancing Dog Productions SPRL, a film production company he co-founded in 2014 which focuses on documentaries and short-fictions, but also provides services to companies, institutions and NGO's. He thinks of himself as a swiss army knife, finding satisfaction in multiple jobs inside and outside the company. One of his hobby, time-lapsing, reveals a wider passion for image composition. A passion he gladly fulfills when traveling around, on a personal or professional level. He lately also developed a new company specialised in long-term timelapses : Elapse.
Since 2017, he closely works with Hungy Minds, a belgian communication agency where he endorses the role of film director and producer.
